The project addresses the rise in juvenile delinquency in Europe and promotes prevention as a key tool. It is based on the recognition that young people in vulnerable situations often lack positive adult role models and educational or employment support, which increases the risk of reoffending and exclusion.
Participating organisations, including GhJ and SiB (Germany), LINC (Italy), Aifed (Spain), and ZISPB (Lithuania), cooperate to exchange prevention methods, strengthen their capacities, and improve the effectiveness of their programmes.
GhJ applies a “confrontational prevention” model that shows young people the real consequences of crime through prison visits and dialogue with inmates. This approach, which seeks to counteract idealised views of crime disseminated by the media, has proven effective in reducing reoffending. SiB provides systemic counselling methodologies, while the other organisations share experiences in rehabilitation and reintegration.
The project is primarily aimed at professionals from organisations working with young people in conflict with the law, promoting their professionalisation and European cooperation. By providing them with more humane, preventative, and effective intervention models, it indirectly benefits the young people at risk.
