Geothermal Energy

Development of Adult Skills in the Field of Geothermal Energy

Context
Lifelong learning is an integral part of employment and social policy. Both lifelong learning and lifelong employability are no longer guaranteed by education or structured school education during childhood and youth. Because the continuous structural changes required by the digital age affect all economies. In the face of changes, updating of skills and competences is possible through adult education in lifelong learning. In the developed countries, the quality and quantity of the human resources required by the economic sectors and new technologies in the future is constantly being studied. Therefore, new skills required by new jobs gain a special importance.

The project
Using geothermal energy resources in Europe it will contribute to the goal of continuing lifelong learning with innovative and inclusive distance education modules to contribute to the environment and the economy. Based on informal and non-formal learning, our project presents high-quality, interactive outputs tailored to the learning needs of the current era and adults. These outputs are constantly based on adult education centres and digital technologies that are accessible to all.
The aim of our project is to contribute to the smart, sustainable and inclusive growth priorities of the EU through green and competitive economy through the use of geothermal energy, which is a renewable energy source in agriculture, food, industry and animal husbandry. The target group of our project are the instructors who will be involved in adult education on the use of geothermal energy and the low skilled adults that can be employed in these areas. This project is prepared in partnership of Turkey, the Netherlands, Portugal, Greece and Spain and it will improve the quality of adult education in Europe. Increasing the use of geothermal energy includes innovative and interdisciplinary information transfer and interactive and high-quality outputs for the transformation of education into economic growth, employment and products.
Project outputs
1. Course modules for adult education centres, which are affiliated to the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning, for adult and vocational education centres in Europe
2. E-learning modules for the use of geothermal energy applications for adults in all Europe
3. A strategy development workshop will be organized and e-book will be prepared for the more efficient use of geothermal energy.
