Sustainable Development Goals – United Nations
A new global social contract that leaves no one behind

On 25 September 2015, 193 countries came together and committed to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the year 2030. These goals are an opportunity for countries and their societies to embark on a new path to improve the lives of all.

Andalusia promotes greater action on the part of the population to make it possible to meet the new 2030 horizon and that is why we want to highlight some initiatives and contributions in Andalusia in relation to these goals.

Multiple Andalusian entities and organisations are committed to the goals and due to the diversity of collaborating entities, each one focuses on specific objectives.

We would like to highlight the work of the Inter-University Institute for Research in Data Science and Computational Intelligence (DaSCI) of the University of Granada and the University of Jaén. They are gathering information about how Artificial Intelligence and other digital technologies can favour the development of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Likewise, the Granada Chamber of Commerce is committed to sustainability, efficient use of resources, promoting the local economy and culture, supporting employee entrepreneurship and measuring the carbon footprint of companies, among others.

We highlight the #aliadosdelosODS campaign. The Spanish Global Compact Network has launched this campaign to achieve a multiplier effect and raise awareness of the 2030 Agenda and more than 1,500 entities have signed up to act as a loudspeaker.

From AIFED, we want to give visibility to companies and the great work they do. The United Nations has declared: "Private entrepreneurship, investment and innovation are major drivers of productivity, inclusive economic growth and job creation ... We call on all businesses to use innovation and creativity to solve problems related to sustainable development".
