Project: MUTUAL SHARE FOR WOMEN CARE

When a victim of violence needing help, advice or immediate protection breaks the wall of injustices around her, the first contact for help is an operator working in an anti-violence support center. Lot of empathy but also a qualified profile and strict procedures are asked to the person who takes in charge the request from the victim. Workers of any anti-violence support center –wherever its nationality- must be always open and prompt to listen, advice, provide legal and immediate support.
It – as many other jobs in the social care field- could be exhausting year after year. Workers could feel overwhelmed by the increasing numbers of femicide, abuse, violence against women even if they give all they can to help the sufferers and prevention campaigns. But also, they could feel harmless thinking at the long-time legal sentences requires to send the oppressor to prison and at the lack or not enough supports given to the families of victims.
This project with its four-international meeting (Italy- Spain- Slovenia- Poland) aims to create an International network among European anti-violence workers to make them compare their own National systems in order to exchange good practices and adopt the best ones in their country. In addition, it could be an enrichment to better analyze the problem of femicide from another cultural point of view to widen the knowledge of the problem to put into practice and experiment new tools in their protocol and in the awareness-raising anti-violence campaigns.
Violence is very important problem in UE, but not everybody knows how to protect it, how to help it.
The aims:
– new methods of work with adult learners
– integrate the local environment to protect violence
– improve the educators’ and trainers’ skills
– improve the knowledge about different kinds of violence – against women, old people, in sport (stadiums), racism, hate speech etc.
– help adult in improving their personal and social competences
– exchange the experience between educators and trainers.

LTTA of the project in Granada

Posted on 21 December, 2021 | by Aifed

Last 15,16,17,18 December we celebrated the LTTA of the project in Granada.

The consortium visited the European Women's Centre Mariana Pineda. House of Mariana Pineda. This centre was the last home of Mariana Pineda and collects studies on gender and equal opportunities between women and men and offers a guided tour about the life of Mariana Pineda.

Another topic discussed was the presentation of the current Spanish and European panorama in relation to gender violence. Data from the last five years were presented and the consortium made use of the Global Gender Gap Report (World Economic Forum, 2021). This allowed us to analyse and draw conclusions about the current situation in the countries of the consortium.

We had the opportunity to have the participation of the Association of Women Political Scientists of Granada (Asociación Mujeres Politólogas de Granada). This Association is composed by a group of female graduates in Political Science and Sociology, experts in Gender and Equal Opportunities between women and men.

They presented to the members the work they carry out: training, awareness-raising, consultancy and social research activities, aimed at promoting the participation of women in social life. This was followed by a round of questions and answers.

Finally, the programmes carried out by the CIS (Centre for Social Insertion) were presented. This presentation was led by a great professional, who has dedicated a significant part of his professional career to working in penitentiary centres and currently works in the CIS of Granada.

Programmes presented to the consortium:

  • ''Gender Violence: intervention programme for aggressors''
  • ''Programme of actions for equality between women and men in the penitentiary environment''

Thanks to all those who made this meeting possible and we will keep you informed about the next steps of the project!

Among the many topics they deal with we can find workshops on prevention of gender violence, gender violence in leisure contexts, equality, conciliation, interculturality, political participation, leadership and empowerment or social research.

Guadalupe, Mª Dolores and Emilia have expressed how their mission is to achieve a society in which everyone has the opportunity to participate with equal rights and opportunities and in an active way in social, political and economic life.

Training – Exchange of good practices for women’s care

Posted on 30 June, 2021 | by Aifed

We have had the opportunity to attend this online meeting, led by Jasa Association (Maribor, Slovenia) on June 21,22,23 and 24, in relation to the project Mutual share for woman care. We have participated jointly with our partners from DEMOSTENE, Italy and Fundacja Bądź Aktywny, Poland.

During these days, several Slovenian associations have shown the important work they carry out in the social centres and have shown us how they work with the victims and how they combat gender violence every day.

21.06.21.

Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities in Slovenia has introduced social work Centres in Slovenia, with a wide scope of work: work with children, families, social and financial assistance.

22.06.21

Association for women and children victims of violence. Safe house in Gorenjska, has shown its programs for women victims of gender-based violence. They carry out multiple activities: professional support and counselling, workshops (cooking, sports, music therapy, gardening, activities for children).

23.06.21

Samaritan Confidential Telephone Society and SOS Helpline for Women and Children, whose mission is to offer protection and support to women and children. They operate the program "We listen, we don't judge, we help -SOS for victims of domestic violence 24 hours a day (SOS 24/7)'' to provide easily accessible emotional support to the caller.

Association for Nonviolent Communication, with its programs to help those who experience violence, reduce society's tolerance to violence and help those who commit violence to change their behaviour.

24.06.21

The Slovenian police have shown their involvement and collaboration with NGOs, associations and social work centres and how they deal with gender violence.

Finally, Jasa Association, has presented the wonderful books they create and we have seen in them a key tool to educate children in equality. A two-way communication through narrative literature.

It has been a great experience and we can only thank all the associations for the marvellous work!

Training – Exchange of good practices for women´s care

Posted on 20 December, 2020 | by Aifed

Last 15,16,17 and 18 December took place this online training conducted by Fundacja Bądź Aktywny, Poland.

During these days, we had a wonderful opportunity to deepen the workshops that have been prepared under the Erasmus+ Mutual Share For Woman Care project.

The topics discussed were:

  • Factors of violence against women.

-Stereotypes.

-Mobbing (verbal aggression, harassment, exclusion, physical aggression).

  • How to create a network for victims of domestic violence.

Our partners have presented us the Charter of Rights - Ministry of Justice, Poland, in relation to victims of domestic violence:

Live in a violence-free family, legal protection of your life, demanding protection for you and your child or provision of medical counseling.

  • The constant struggle women have had and still have to protect their rights.

They are like a puzzle:

How are women fighting for their rights today?

- They form support groups

- Support each other

- They express opposition loudly

- Build their inner strength

3 steps building women's power: feel as stronger person overcome fear of criticism and know your rights and use them.

  • Violence as a factor determining the quantity and quality of consumed food.

Much of the literature linking violence and nutrition considers that women who suffer violence, suffer from anorexia, bulimia, overweight, cancer.

  • Self-defence activities for women.

Self-defence courses for women are becoming more and more popular, women become able to make quicker decisions, and physical fitness translates into self-confidence.

Thank you for this extraordinary training and thank you to the Women's Rights Centre and Subvenio (Lodz, Poland) for presenting the valuable work they do with all those who are victims of violence.

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ “Mutual Share Women Care” project, we visited the European Women’s Center “Mariana Pineda”.

Posted on 4 March, 2020 | by Aifed

Mariana Pineda was an empowered and free woman of her time, and she has appeared to us as a reference model for those European women subjected to situations of abuse.

Gender violence is a wide phenomenon, a real issue both in the less developed countries as in the richest ones. Our project has the objective to create an international network among European workers against violence, so that they can compare their own national systems: doing so, they could exchange good practices and adopt the best ones in their country.

To learn more about Mariana Pineda’s story it is possible to visit the European Women’s Center “Mariana Pineda”, located at Calle Aguila 19. This Center, headquarters of the Municipal Council of Women, is open to the women of the city as a place of meeting and projects, with the aim of ending gender inequality.

We recommend a visit to this fascinating place, which concerns both our history and the values of freedom, security and respect that we aim to spread.
