Organized by the Granada association AIFED, and within the framework of the European project SENIOR EDUCATORS IN ELBLAG, POLAND, this exhibition will be hung from April 1 till 30, 2020 at the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Granada.
Elblag is a city placed in the North of Poland. It was razed to the ground in 1945, at the end of the II World War. While many Polish cities started to be reconstructed within few years after the war, Elblag had to wait more than fifty years for its Old Town and other historical buildings of the city deserved to be reconstructed. But it was worth the waiting. Why? Because that task was made under a breakthrough new concept in architecture: Retroversion.
It means to reconstruct those buildings on their own groundwork with almost the same heights and post modern style. This said, it is quite clear that the photographic exhibition we are working on, will show in a parallel way how was the old town of Elblag before the end of the war and how is nowadays. Some fifteen large size pictures, plotted and framed, that will be hung on the walls of an exceptional exhibition hall: The Superior Technical School of Architecture of Granada.
